What is it and who can request it?

The Job Seeking Visa is a residence authorization for holders of a stay permit for higher studies who finish said studies and wish to access the Spanish labour market searching for a job related to their professional field or to undertake a business project.

It is a non-renewable residence permit of 12 months duration, counting from the expiration of the previous permit.

When should it be requested?

It can be requested between 60 days before and 90 days after the expiration of the stay authorization. The request extends the validity of the previous authorization until the resolution of the procedure.

What requirements must I meet to apply for the Employment Seeking Residency Permit in Spain?

As we have mentioned before, you must be the holder of a Study Visa, and possess an official higher education degree (bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or doctorate) passed in Spain. You must also have sufficient financial means.

What happens to the student’s relatives?

Relatives who, through their spouse or parent, hold a residence permit for studies, may also apply for the Employment Seeking Residency Permit as relatives of the holder. This permit will not authorize them to work.
